These deep, multi-layered openwork carvings are a striking focal point for a collector’s wall, a grand entryway, or a curated luxury interior.

These are surviving fragments from a traditional Chinese timber-framed structure, dating to the early 20th century.

Condition: The pieces are in original, untouched condition with minor losses and surface wear consistent with their age and architectural origin. These are not flaws, but the historical fingerprints that verify their authenticity. The panels are offered as-is, without any modern mounting or restoration.

Architectural fragments of this size, with complete openwork carving and original gilt-and-red lacquer, are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Finding a matching pair of this quality is exceptionally rare. As heritage buildings continue to disappear, pieces of this caliber represent both a cultural investment and a tangible asset.

Please note that this is sold as a pair. The decorative effect is impressive when displayed together; they are sure to be the center of attention. See less
