This exceptional early 20th-century five-drawer highboy dresser was manufactured by the renowned Northern Furniture Company of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Combining elements of Federal Revival and early Art Deco design, this striking case piece features premium book-matched flame mahogany veneers across the drawer fronts, framed by contrasting dark inlaid banding and elegant beaded molding accents along the upper drawers.
The dresser stands on its original tapered legs equipped with factory-authentic metal casters for easy placement. The top surface features a gently curved, stylized backsplash anchored with its original detailed beaded trim. The back of the piece proudly retains the original stamped, shield-shaped metal maker's mark, securing its provenance and historical value.

This piece has been meticulously restored using historically accurate methods to preserve its authentic antique integrity. Rather than being stripped or coated in modern polyurethanes, the original 1920s finish was carefully restored via shellac reactivation (amalgamation). This process erased historic water spots and moisture damage while successfully maintaining the rich, deep amber warmth and genuine century-old patina of the mahogany. The external wooden drawer crossbars have been repaired, refinished and new shellac applied due to extensive damage. The drawer faces and legs are in excellent condition with few imperfections consistent with age. All hardware is intact and structurally sound. One wooden knob has been repaired. Please see pictures and review carefully for all repairs. less
