A dynamic and vibrant vintage sculpture of a rearing horse, exquisitely crafted in traditional Chinese Cloisonné enamel. Standing an impressive 15 inches tall and weighing a hefty 8.4 lbs, this substantial piece is a true statement of Asian craftsmanship.
The horse is beautifully modeled in a mid-air, galloping pose, balancing gracefully on one leg upon an ornate, spherical base. Its body is richly decorated with intricate cloisonné enamel, featuring a turquoise-blue background covered in delicate, multi-colored floral and scroll motifs. The gilt-brass details—including the horse's mane, hooves, and the elaborate harness—beautifully contrast with the vibrant enamel. The spherical base is equally detailed, decorated in red enamel with a gold-toned, archaic-style band and flanked by elegant gilt handles.
