This handsome piece combines the restrained elegance of Georgian design with the exceptional craftsmanship for which Sheffield silver became internationally celebrated.

John Round & Son was among Sheffield's respected silver manufacturers, producing fine silverware for the expanding Victorian and Edwardian markets. The firm's work is admired for its combination of traditional English design, accomplished craftsmanship, and enduring quality.

The coffee pot bears English sterling silver hallmarks, including the Sheffield crown, lion passant, and date letter corresponding to 1901, together with the maker's mark of John Round & Son. Additional stamped numbers, 9146 and 60, appear on the underside, presumably relating to the manufacturer's pattern or production records.

Weighing approximately 455.9 grams (including the handle and other non-silver components), this substantial antique coffee pot has a particularly handsome presence. Its graceful proportions, decorative engraving, and contrasting ebony handle make it equally appealing as a functional serving piece or a decorative addition to a collection of fine English silver.
