Set of Six Sculptural Cantilever Lounge Chairs in Ivory Performance Upholstery
A set of six sculptural cantilever armchairs that bring architectural precision and livable comfort into very good company. Their fluid metal frames, continuous arm-to-floor lines, and distinctive T-shaped bases give them the unmistakable graphic presence of modernist design. No unnecessary ornament an no decorative distractions, the architecture does the talking.
The design language recalls the celebrated BRNO chair by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, whose radical approach to modernism proved that eliminating the back legs could be a rather brilliant idea. Its cantilevered frame, disciplined geometry, and sculptural simplicity remain compelling nearly a century later.
Upholstered in textured ivory performance fabric, these chairs bring a softer, more inviting dimension. Generously proportioned seats, gently angled backs, and padded upholstered arms temper the precision of the metalwork with genuine comfort. The effect is modern without feeling cold and sculptural without becoming severe.
The Performance fabric offers a little reassurance that these chairs are meant to be lived in, not merely admired from a safe distance. No one should have to sit perfectly still to preserve good design. Around a dining table, gathered into a conversation area, or placed individually wherever a room needs architectural authority, the six chairs create a compelling statement. Their repeating lines establish rhythm and continuity, while the contrast between cool metal and warm ivory keeps the overall effect from feeling overly austere. Together, they have presence without the need for theatrics.
They are tailored without being stiff, sophisticated without being precious, and practical without making a production of it. Six chairs, impeccable lines and absolutely no requirement to treat dinner like a museum visit.
