An exceptional, highly expressive work of late 20th-century American studio art pottery. Crafted in the classic profile of an oversized Japanese Chawan (matcha tea bowl), this wheel-thrown stoneware piece stands out with an intentionally visceral, raw design ethos.

The exterior features dramatic, expressionistic splatters of a rich copper reduction oxblood red glaze. This earthy, textured surface contrasts brilliantly with a vibrant, thick glass pool of turquoise/celadon blue glaze coating the interior. The unglazed foot ring displays flawless artisan wheel-trimming, ringed by a deliberate series of rhythmic, incised vertical chatter marks around the lower base.
