Cast from solid bronze, the piece features a rich, dark patina with remnants of a reddish-brown lacquer or pigment in the recessed areas, giving it an authentic, aged appearance.

The elephant stands firmly on four stout legs, its head turned slightly to one side with its trunk curled inward. Its skin is rendered with deep, stylized folds and wrinkles. One boy sits astride the elephant's back, holding onto a rein or rope, while the other boy stands precariously atop the elephant's head, reaching up to hold a tall, slender object—perhaps a vase or a lantern—that rests on a long stalk extending from the elephant's back. The figures are dressed in traditional robes and have joyful, expressive faces.

The statue is a heavy, substantial piece with a beautifully weathered surface, making it a perfect addition to a collection of Asian antiques or as a distinctive focal point in a traditional interior.
