A charming antique Chinese hand-thrown ceramic jar decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue calligraphy characters and simple horizontal banding on an off-white glazed body. The characters express traditional wishes for longevity and prosperity, a classic motif in Chinese folk ceramic art.
The vessel features a rounded, robust form with a short neck and tapered base. Visible age-related craquelure, subtle wear and patina throughout the glaze, authentic signs of its long history. This rustic blue and white jar is a wonderful Chinoiserie accent piece for shelves, mantels, entryways or bookcase styling. Perfect for collectors of early Chinese provincial pottery and vintage global decor.
