An exceptional mid-20th-century sterling silver Judaica Kiddush cup / tumbler. The body features hand-bright-cut and engine-turned engravings, highlighted by a central Magen David (Star of David) flanked by scrolling foliate acanthus accents. The upper rim and lower base are finished with delicate wriggle-work (bright-cut wave) bandings.
Constructed of solid sterling silver with a smooth flared rim and a clean, polished interior, the underside is clearly stamped with the maker's purity mark "STG.SIL.".
Historical Provenance & Design Significance:
Mid-20th-century silver Judaica reflects a celebrated transition between traditional European ceremonial hand-engraving and clean, geometric mid-century profiles. Featuring engine-turned wave bands and hand-chased foliage surrounding a central Magen David, this piece encapsulates classic ritual silversmithing tailored for home ceremonial use.
Aesthetic Appeal to Interior Designers:
With its lustrous silver surface, rich contrast engraving, and refined proportions, this beaker serves as an elegant accent on bar carts, curated étagères, or Judaica displays. Its versatile scale allows it to function beautifully both as a ritual vessel and as a decorative tabletop object.
Note:
An exquisite piece of mid-century silver handiwork, this sterling beaker bridges sacred ritual and decorative art. The hand-engraved Star of David and delicate wriggle-work border lend sophisticated detail to its classic form. Perfect as a refined gift or a striking addition to a curated vignette.

Authenticity Assessment
This piece exhibits all key physical markers of authentic mid-20th-century silver construction. The "STG.SIL." hallmark is deeply incised rather than cast or laser-etched, showing clear metal displacement around the lettering edges consistent with a steel hand-punch stamp. The geometric wave pattern and floral scrollwork demonstrate bright-cut engraving techniques where light-reflecting facets were sliced directly into the silver wall using a hand graver tool. Furthermore, the spun wall construction, seamless flared rim, and exact weight-to-volume ratio (59g for a 2.75" beaker) confirm solid sterling composition.
