A rare piece by this fabulous designer, in exceptional condition.

Tubular metal frame, fully covered in saddle-stitched leather.

Dark burgundy color, varying in shade depending on the light.
At the top is a small storage compartment.
Below, a coat/clothes hook.

At the bottom, a shoe rack.

It bears the letter R under the small storage compartment.

Exceptional condition. Minimal signs of age. Nothing to report. See photos.

Jacques Adnet:

In the 1920s and 1930s, Adnet established himself as a major figure in the Art Deco movement.

His association with Hermès marked a decisive turning point in his career, allowing him to develop his renowned style combining leather and metal.

At the helm of Compagnie des Arts Français, Adnet continued to push the boundaries of design with creations that blended elegance, modernity, and functionality.
Among the designers on his team were leading figures such as François Jourdain, Charlotte Perriand, and Georges Jouve.
In the 1950s, he devoted himself to furniture design and received numerous commissions, including the decoration of the French President's private apartments at the Élysée Palace and the meeting room at UNESCO's Paris headquarters. from 1959 to 1970, he directed the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
