This hand‑painted silk textile features a traditional mihrab motif from Yazd, Iran, with fine brushwork and detailed floral elements. The piece has been professionally mounted on linen and framed to preserve its craftsmanship and decorative impact.
Collected in the early 1970s while serving in the Peace Corps in Yazd, Iran.

Had to choose from list - chose Afghanistan. Excellent vintage condition with minimal, normal frame wear. Silk surface is clean with no visible paint loss, creasing, cracking, running, or staining. At very close range inspection, there is very light discoloration in spots at the top in the ecru background between the spires. Appears to be very light tea stains. Not noticeable otherwise. Speaks to authenticity. less
