Guanyin is seated in the lotus position (padmasana) upon a red lotus throne, which rests on an elaborate, gilt-bronze base modeled as swirling waves. She wears flowing robes in deep green and red, adorned with a jeweled necklace, and a tall, ornate crown containing a small figure of a Buddha. Her raised right hand holds a small object, while her left hand cradles a vase. The figure is flanked by two young attendants standing on smaller lotus pedestals: one holding a vessel, and the other with hands clasped in prayer, wearing a red bib inscribed with a character. The piece exhibits a rich, aged patina with the polychrome paint showing natural wear, and the underside reveals a dark patina with a cast seal mark.
