This is an impressive antique bronze sculpture of a Dragon Turtle, a mythical creature revered in traditional Asian culture as a symbol of longevity, power, and prosperity. The figure features a fierce dragon head with detailed horns, an open mouth, and a flowing mane, attached to a turtle's body. The domed shell is intricately cast with a central Bagua (trigram) motif surrounded by geometric patterns and stylized coin designs along the rim. The body is adorned with detailed scales and swirling cloud motifs on the legs. The bronze exhibits a rich, dark patina with extensive traces of original gold gilding remaining across the surface, giving it a warm, aged luster. This piece would make a striking addition to a home altar or an Asian antique collection.
