The work features a young boy, rendered in a detailed, monochromatic charcoal style, seated alone against a vast and vibrant pink backdrop. This stark contrast between the grayscale subject and the intense field of color emphasizes the isolation of his internal world. By holding a single, brilliant red flower, the boy signifies a small but powerful anchor to beauty and hope, even in a space that feels emotionally overwhelming.

In this piece, I focus on the concept of finding peace within oneself. The girl’s seated posture and downcast gaze suggest a deep, contemplative stillness rather than loneliness. The bright green patterned shirt provides a rhythmic pulse to the composition, connecting the subject back to the vibrancy of life. Solitude is an affirmation of the strength required to be alone with one's thoughts.
