This charming pair of elephant figures is crafted from a bronze body and richly decorated with cloisonné enamel. Each elephant features a vibrant turquoise blue ground adorned with dense, colorful scrolling vine and floral motifs in shades of red, pink, yellow, green, and white. The heads are detailed with dark, upswept trunks, tusks, and large ears. One elephant holds a dark, round object in its trunk, while the other features a raised trunk. The sides of the bodies are decorated with circular medallions containing dark symbols. The figures are modeled in a naturalistic, striding stance. This set is a striking example of traditional decorative art, combining sculptural bronze elements with fine enamel work.
