This beautifully crafted piece is a classic example of a traditional Chinese seal (chop). It features a large, square base topped with a meticulously carved group of mythical beasts (likely guardian lions or Pixiu) in a playful, interactive posture. The creatures are detailed with expressive features and flowing manes, symbolizing protection and good fortune.
The stone boasts a rich, deep reddish-brown hue with a smooth, polished surface that feels substantial in the hand. The side of the seal is inscribed with Chinese characters, adding an authentic, scholarly touch. Weighing over 450 grams, this seal is not only a functional tool for stamping but also serves as a stunning decorative sculpture and a perfect heavyweight paperweight.
