The lid is intricately carved with a detailed figural scene depicting a figure riding a horse through a landscape of pine trees, rocks, and stylized clouds.

The scene is framed by a wide border of carved scrolling floral and foliate motifs, with a geometric diaper pattern in the background adding depth and texture. The box is designed to hold jewelry or small treasures, making it a functional and beautiful piece. This is a fine example of traditional Chinese lacquer craftsmanship and a distinguished addition to any collection of Asian antiques or decorative arts. See less
