About the Maker

Dino Rosin (Italian, born 1948) is an internationally recognized master glass artist celebrated for his extraordinary sculptural creations in Murano, Venice. Working alongside his brother Loredano Rosin before establishing his own artistic identity, Rosin developed a distinctive approach to glass sculpture that combines classical figurative forms with contemporary abstraction. He is particularly renowned for his mastery of calcedonia (chalcedony) glass, a technically demanding Venetian glassmaking process that produces mesmerizing, stone-like swirls of color and intricate patterns. His sculptures are admired by collectors worldwide for their elegant forms, exceptional craftsmanship, and remarkable interplay of light and color.

About This Piece

“L’Attesa” (The Wait) is a striking original glass sculpture by Dino Rosin, beautifully capturing the quiet elegance and contemplative nature of the human figure. The graceful, abstract composition combines richly colored calcedonia glass with transparent elements, creating an extraordinary interplay of deep violet, ruby red, amber, and iridescent blue. Delicate, flowing patterns within the glass evoke the natural veining of precious gemstones, making each sculpture visually distinctive. The elongated figure, with its gently inclined head and fluid contours, conveys a sense of anticipation and introspection. Mounted on a substantial black marble base, this impressive work exemplifies Rosin's technical virtuosity and sophisticated artistic vision. Signed Dino Rosin and bearing the Rosin Studios Murano Venezia foundry stamp, this sculpture is a magnificent example of contemporary Italian studio glass artistry.
