In Mr. Neon Crush, Nathalie De Santis delivers an electric statement piece by bathing her iconic Playmobil silhouette in an ultra-saturated, monochromatic neon pink. Covered from head to pedestal in expressive black paint splatters, drips, and raw graffiti scribbles—including handwritten words like "MAGIC" and "WANT"—the helmeted figure features bold 'X' markings for eyes that amplify its rebellious, street-inspired character. Mounted on a matching neon pink base heavily speckled with black paint, the sculpture projects an intense visual magnetic pull.
Stylistically, the work merges neo-pop aesthetics with the raw, provocative energy of punk and urban street art. De Santis moves away from nostalgic innocence, utilizing the aggressive monochrome palette and tactile drip techniques to channel emotional intensity and modern defiance. By transforming the playful toy form into a canvas of bold neon radiance and raw expressive markings, Mr. Neon Crush explores the tension between manufactured perfection and unfiltered human attitude.
