This is a tiered, seven-light electric wall sconce designed in the historic Maria Theresa style, featuring flat metal arms clad in glass strips held by flower rosettes. It is richly embellished with cut crystal bobeches, faceted almond prisms, pendeloques, and faux candle sleeve socket covers.
Named after Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, this distinctive style of lighting originated in Bohemia and Vienna during the mid-18th century, initially created to celebrate her coronation. Characterized by glass-clad gilded metal framework and copious crystal pendants, the design achieved lasting popularity across Europe and the United States. Throughout the 20th century, European and American lighting firms, notably Schonbek and Crystorama, produced faithful reproductions to provide classical elegance in dining rooms and formal entryways.
