Large antique hand-thrown terracotta storage jar dating to approximately the late 19th or early 20th century. This substantial cylindrical vessel features a thick rolled rim, vertical throwing marks, a warm beige-brown earthenware surface, and beautifully aged mineral deposits with traces of pale green glaze. The interior is glazed, consistent with traditional utilitarian vessels used for storing food, oil, olives, grains, or other pantry goods.
The simple form, handmade character, and naturally weathered surface give it a strong sculptural presence, making it equally appealing as a decorative vessel, floor accent, or architectural object in a rustic, Mediterranean, European, or collected interior.
In excellent condition with no cracks or structural damage. Surface variations, mineral deposits, and glaze remnants are original to its age and character.
