An iconic sofa attributed to Mario Marenco for Mobil Girgi, the “Sapporo” model, produced in the 1970s.
It is characterized by soft, generous, and enveloping shapes, typical of Italian design of that period.
This piece stands out for its substantial three-seater structure, generous proportions, wide rounded armrests, and the distinctive capitonné stitching on the back cushions, with buttons that emphasize the softness of the padding.
The original leather upholstery in a tan/cognac color features a beautiful patina that further enhances the piece’s vintage character.
The leather and padded forms give the sofa a warm and inviting look, while its low and deep proportions underscore its lounge-style appeal.
An important example of 1970s Italian design, rooted in the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic and the radical/organic Italian design of the period, particularly appealing to collectors and enthusiasts of vintage furniture.
The sofa shows normal signs of wear due to age and use. This piece is designed in the style of the selected designer and/or manufacturer
