The whimsical series was conceived as a playful satire of European court musicians, depicting monkeys dressed in elaborate Rococo costumes while performing as members of an orchestra.
The figures portray anthropomorphic monkey musician attired in ornate 18th-century European court dress and finished in vibrant hand-painted colors with gilt accents.

The figurine is 13 3/4 in tall monkey violinist holding a brown violin beneath its chin with the left hand while drawing a bow with the right. The monkey wears a black hat accented by a green band and is dressed in a vibrant cornflower-blue frock coat richly decorated with scrollwork along the cuffs, seams, and back pleats. The cuffs feature a distinctive green-and-red diamond lattice pattern. Beneath the coat is a cream-colored waistcoat fitted with a vertical row of small gilt buttons, paired with black knee breeches. The figure's refined costume and lively pose capture the theatrical charm and humor associated with the historic Monkey Orchestra tradition.
