In the early 1960s he settled … Read more Rik Versonnen was born in Leuven, he was a painter, sculptor and jewelry designer. In the early 1960s he settled in Brussels, where he also had a small studio in the puppet theater Toone. There he found inspiration in the inhabitants of the small Brussels neighborhoods. In his later years he went to Ostend. He also spent a lot of time in Spain. He painted mainly landscapes, flower still lifes, romantically conceived female figures. His works are often colorful and poetic and use original lighting effects. In the mid-1970s he designed posters for festivals in Ypres, Nieuwpoort and Ostend. He died in 1997 in Spain. Oil on canvas.
