The chair … Read more An original Mid-Century Modern chair designed by Antonín Šuman for Tatra Nábytok Pravenec, produced in Czechoslovakia around 1960. The chair features the distinctive sculptural wooden backrest associated with Šuman's Czechoslovak furniture designs, combined with slender tapered legs and an organic, elegant silhouette. Comparable Šuman chairs are documented as being manufactured by Tatra Nábytok in the 1960s and are commonly classified as Mid-Century Modern / Czechoslovak modernist furniture. An original manufacturer's label is preserved on the underside of the chair, providing additional evidence of its Tatra production. The chair remains in original vintage condition and is offered without the seat cushion, as shown in the photographs.
