A joyful original enamel on copper by Louis Cardin depicting two children flying a kite amid a colorful flower-filled landscape.
Cardin’s enamel technique gives the work a distinctive jewel-like surface, with tiny flecks and raised pools of brilliant color creating texture and depth. The playful subject and fresh palette bring warmth and optimism to a room, while the substantial vintage gilt frame gives the intimate work considerably more presence.
Signed CARDIN and individually numbered 370/500. The work is accompanied by its original authentication from La Société de Vérification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris. The documentation identifies the piece as an original enamel on copper by Louis Cardin and states that Cardin studied under Parisian artist André Lhote.
Presented in a vintage gilt frame with decorative inner molding and a neutral fabric liner.
Very good vintage condition. The frame shows light age-appropriate wear.
