“The Skipper” is a signed original acrylic painting on canvas by Kay Mollison. This expressive portrait depicts a seated man wearing a dark cap and shirt, with his hands resting on a vivid red bag. Loose, visible brushwork and a warm ochre background give the composition depth and character.
The painting is signed at the lower right and presented in a gold-toned frame with a neutral fabric liner. Its nautical character makes it a compelling addition to a coastal interior, study, living room, or collected gallery wall.
Handwritten notations on the reverse reference Rockport and exhibition dates from 1963 and 1964, adding an interesting historical detail.
Preserved in excellent condition and offered with its existing frame.
Overall framed dimensions: 35 inches high × 30.25 inches wide × 1.25 inches deep.
