The vase features a bulbous body, a waisted neck, and a flared foot. The surface is richly decorated in low relief with intricate, repeating bands of stylized beast (Taotie) masks, serpentine dragons, and geometric cloud and thunder (leiwen) patterns. Two prominent, openwork dragon-form handles flank the neck, and the domed lid is crowned by a standing crane with outspread wings, a classic Chinese symbol of longevity and peace. The bronze exhibits a heavy, natural dark brown and green patina with extensive areas of blue-green verdigris, giving it a deep, antique character. A band of incised characters (likely a commemorative or pseudo-archaic inscription) is visible on the lower body. A rare and impressive display piece.
