"Orchid and Lizard" is an oil on panel painting by Susan McDonnell, completed in 2019.
Two sprays of small white orchids with long, slender petals reach out on either side of a tree trunk, set against a near-black ground. Pale green leaves grow from the bark between them, and yellow-green moss covers the lower trunk, where a small brown lizard makes its way head first toward the bottom of the picture. Faint shapes of leaves sit in the darkness around the trunk.
The painting measures 20 inches high by 16 inches wide. It is framed and ready to hang, and measures 21.25 by 17.25 inches framed. The frame is shown in the photographs.
Signed, titled and dated by the artist on the back.
Painted in 2019 and acquired directly from the artist. Ships from Denver, Colorado.
