A beautifully crafted Chinese rectangular tea tray or display stand, likely made of Huali (rosewood). The tray features a raised gallery rim with elegant, carved handles at either end and rests on short bracket feet. The sides are accented with intricate, stylized scroll carvings. The flat center is exquisitely decorated with delicate mother-of-pearl (shell) inlay, depicting a lively scene of two birds perched on flowering branches with rockwork. A sophisticated piece for displaying teaware, scholar's objects, or collectibles.
