A striking solid natural limestone basin featuring deeply carved gadrooned fluting, a substantial rounded rim, and a molded pedestal base. The sculptural classical form is complemented by a beautifully weathered gray-and-cream surface developed through outdoor exposure.
The stone displays natural tonal variation, mineral inclusions, pitting, and irregularities throughout, giving the piece the character sought after in collected interiors and established gardens.
Measuring approximately 21 inches wide × 18 inches deep × 12 inches high, the basin is substantial despite its relatively compact proportions.
The flat architectural back incorporates a recessed section and existing openings, offering intriguing possibilities for adaptation as a wall-mounted fountain basin, powder-room or garden sink, outdoor wash basin, courtyard water feature, or sculptural garden element. Any plumbing or installation requirements should be evaluated by the buyer’s installer.
Its restrained classical profile works particularly well in English Country, European-inspired, Mediterranean, Grandmillennial, organic modern, and collected eclectic interiors and landscapes.
The limestone retains its naturally aged surface and has not been aggressively cleaned or refinished. Weathering, pitting, discoloration, surface deposits, and edge wear are present and contribute to its character. Please review photographs closely.
