This listing is for a custom made Lounge Chair, originally designed by award-winning interior designer Barbara Barry for Baker Furniture. First launched in the 1990s, this design became an essential staple of modern transitional and neoclassical design.
Key Features of this Custom Design:
- The Silhouette: This frame is a wider, deeper lounge or occasional chair version of Barry's signature neoclassical form. It features an open upholstered frame, gently curved saber arms, and a perfectly rounded oval backrest.
- The Frame: While the standard production models usually boast a rich mahogany, walnut, or espresso lacquer finish, this specific piece features a striking gilded/gold-leaf finish, elevating its Hollywood Regency flare.
- The Custom Upholstery: This particular chair has been customized with a highly tactile combination of materials. The backrest is wrapped in a tight, subtle chevron/herringbone weave, while the generous seat cushion breaks traditional minimalist neutral rules with a beautiful abstract geometric jacquard pattern, complete with unique eyelash-tufted/fringe details.
