A striking set of six antique French majolica plates by Keller & Guérin, Lunéville — one of the most celebrated faïence makers of the Lorraine region. Each plate is boldly molded in high relief with the maker's signature artichoke and asparagus motif, glazed in a rich turquoise ground with deep aubergine and moss-green accents. The dimensional, hand-finished glazing is characteristic of 19th-century French barbotine work, prized today for its sculptural texture and jewel-toned palette.
The reverse of each plate bears the impressed "Déposé / K et G / Lunéville" maker's mark, confirming authenticity.
These would make a beautiful set for serving asparagus or artichokes tableside, or displayed as a grouping on a plate rack or gallery wall for instant color and texture.
