The lid features a depiction of birds and floral elements. The curved shape of the lid is particularly striking, with a central indentation and a three-dimensional, relief-like design on the right side, reminiscent of an open or turning book page from which floral motifs emerge. These lacquerware pieces were traditionally made with Urushi lacquer, applied in several layers, creating the characteristic surface. Black and reddish-brown lacquer with gold-colored decoration. Dark lacquered interior.
