Slip-cast in black stoneware, the bowl takes the form of an open clam shell, with pronounced ridges and folds creating an organic, undulating profile. The matte black exterior emphasizes the deeply modeled shell texture, contrasting with the glossy glazed interior and giving the monochromatic form additional depth. The shell-shaped body is slightly elevated on applied feet that continue the naturalistic modeling of the exterior. Viewed from above, the irregular rim follows the radiating structure of the shell, reinforcing the piece's sculptural character. The underside bears an impressed wedgwood made in england mark together with an additional impressed production code. In good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use.
