The top has a moulded overhanging edge and the case sits above a projecting lower rail.

The left bank holds four graduated drawers, each with a pair of turned brass knobs. The drawers are dovetailed at the front corners, with grooved sides running on fitted bearers and panelled bottoms with a central muntin. To the right, a pair of doors on brass butt hinges opens to a fitted interior: a full-width shelf with a shaped front edge carried on metal brackets, and a vertical divider below creating separate compartments. The door knobs are paired at the meeting stiles.

The cabinet is raised on a separate open underframe of four shaped, tapering legs joined front and back by a shallow arched rail, the leg tops flowing into the rail through a pierced junction.

The piece retains two maker's marks to the interior: the cast brass "AC" roundel, and the white enamelled Handcraft Quality Furniture registered trade mark plaque with the smoothing plane device. This piece has an attribution mark,
