Instead, it features a clearly defined frame with wide, straight armrests and cognac-colored smooth leather that underpins the understated geometry. The sofa is supported by delicate chrome legs that extend far forward and backward, visibly lifting the solid upholstered body from the floor. The contrast between the warm leather and the chrome is what distinguishes the Stella from an ordinary leather sofa. Operation is via two separate mechanisms, each individually adjustable for each seat. Every seat can be adjusted to a gentle reclining position, so no one has to adjust to the rest of the group. The headrests extend upwards as needed, providing support up to the neck—precisely where lower sofas end. Both headrests are included and can be attached to whichever seat is currently needed. The leather is impeccably finished, as is typical for Stressless, and pleasantly durable for everyday use.
