The seat is divided into four sections by a cross seam—the only design detail and, at the same time, what gives the large surface structure. The body is supported by flat, angled metal legs that extend far out, visibly lifting the substantial upholstery from the floor. Its size makes this ottoman versatile: it can be used as a footrest in front of the sofa, as extra seating for guests, or—with a tray on top—as a full-fledged coffee table. De Sede has been working with leather since its beginnings as a saddlery in Klingnau, and this is evident here in the neatly executed seam and the even tension across the entire surface.
