This is an elegant dining set comprising an antique late Victorian three pillar Regency Revival flame mahogany dining table, circa … Read more This is an elegant dining set comprising an antique late Victorian three pillar Regency Revival flame mahogany dining table, circa 1900 in date and a set of twelve mid 20th Century Shield Back dining chairs. The rounded rectangular top with reeded edge is a nice mellow mahogany colour and has two 2ft6" (77cm) leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion. It can seat twelve people in comfort and is raised on three gun barrel sabre leg bases, the centre section on four outswept legs, the end sections on three legs, all the legs terminating in decoratively embossed brass lion's paw castors. The English-made set of twelve Sheraton style Shieldback dining chairs were bought at great expense from Harrods and date from the mid 20th Century. These chairs have been masterfully crafted in beautiful solid mahogany with hand carved decoration throughout, and the finish and attention to detail on display are truly breathtaking. The set comprises two armchairs and ten side chairs all featuring the attractive shield back design hand carved with The Coronet Plume of The Prince of Wales Feathers with drop in seats that have been upholstered in a stunning striped fabric. There is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining set which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection, and a talking point with guests at meal times.

Condition: In excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished waxed and the chairs reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
