It is surmounted by a superb Carrara marble top with projecting corners, lending a noble and sculptural presence typical of the Second Empire. The façade, punctuated by two glazed doors, reveals a luminous interior ideal for displaying precious objects, while the molded frame underscores the exquisite craftsmanship of the woodwork. The whole is enriched with bronze fittings including ingots, drops, sabots, and a chased key, whose perfectly functional lock testifies to the piece's integrity and authenticity. The base rests on toupie feet in ebonized wood with gilt collars, creating a subtle contrast with the warm hue of the cherrywood and reinforcing the overall elegance of the cabinet. The remarkable state of preservation of the marble, bronzes, and marquetry makes this an exceptional piece, representative of the refined craftsmanship of the 19th century.
