This is a stunning vintage Chinese Ebony table screen, featuring exquisite Mother-of-Pearl (MOP) inlay. The screen consists of an octagonal wooden panel set into a heavily carved, dark hardwood stand with a magnificent beast-face motif.
The centerpiece of the panel is a majestic, coiling white Dragon inlaid entirely from luminous mother-of-pearl, chasing a pink flaming pearl amidst stylized clouds. The iridescent MOP contrasts brilliantly against the dark, rich grain of the ebony wood, creating a captivating visual effect.
Measuring 15.2 inches tall and standing on its beautifully carved base, this piece is perfectly scaled to serve as a sophisticated centerpiece on a desk, console table, or bookshelf. It is a striking example of traditional Chinese craftsmanship and Chinoiserie elegance.
