A large urn-shaped table lamp made of reflective silver mercury glass featuring fluted and lobed decorations with a stepped base and metal electrical hardware.
Mercury glass, despite its name, does not contain mercury; instead, it is double-walled blown glass coated on the interior with a silvering solution. Originating in Bohemia and Germany during the mid-19th century, this decorative technique was later adopted by French and American glassmakers.
