An unusually sculptural pair of gilt wrought-iron candelabra featuring an elaborate botanical design of sweeping stems, individually formed leaves and applied flowers.
The two coordinating sections curve gracefully toward one another and together hold fourteen candles, with seven candle cups arranged at varying heights on each side. The ascending floral forms give the pair a particularly dramatic silhouette while the aged gilt surface lends warmth and character.
The auction house cataloged the pair as 19th-century pieces designed in the manner of 17th-century hand-wrought ironwork. No maker’s mark or independent documentation has been identified, so the dating is presented according to the auction attribution.
