Each piece bears the distinguished casting signature of Ferdinand Barbedienne (French, 1810–1892), the premier bronze founder of the Victorian and Napoleon III eras. Historically designed by the acclaimed French sculptor Ferdinand Levillain, these vases epitomize the mid-to-late 19th-century archaeological revival style. See less

Exceptional museum-level preservation. The heavy bronze castings display a rich, authentic historic patina with beautifully crisp hand-chased details. Extremely minor, expected age-appropriate rubbing is present on high-contact areas of the gilding. The original Rouge Griotte marble bases remain structurally excellent with only negligible, faint corner nibbles typical of genuine antique stone. Both lamps have been professionally rewired and outfitted with dual-bulb pull-chain sockets, functioning smoothly and safely.
