Typical of Vallauris production (the embossed "VALLAURIS" mark is clearly visible on the reverse in the indentation), this piece is captivating for its glazing: a glossy black background contrasted by bubbling white foam effects, deep emerald green drips, and bright red highlights on the eye and fin. Versatile, it can serve as a trinket dish, a large ashtray, or a decorative serving platter. In terms of condition, the piece retains all its luster and structural integrity, but shows several small chips and glaze losses consistent with use on the edges and rims (particularly on the rim near the head, the tip of the tail, the central division, and the dorsal border, clearly visible in close-ups).
