A striking large-scale vintage Polish art glass vase attributed to Krosno, featuring a beautifully restrained modernist form in rich amethyst purple.
Standing 13.5 inches tall and weighing approximately 3.9 pounds, the vase is remarkably substantial. Its translucent amethyst body gradually intensifies to a deep plum-purple near the bottom before meeting an exceptionally thick clear glass base. The contrast creates a sculptural, almost architectural appearance and is particularly dramatic when illuminated by natural light.
The minimalist cylindrical form gives the piece a strong Mid-Century Modern sensibility while remaining versatile enough for contemporary interiors. Beautiful displayed alone as an art object or used as a flower vase.
The construction, color and heavy clear base are consistent with vintage Krosno Polish art glass. The piece is unsigned and no original manufacturer’s label remains; therefore, it is being offered as attributed to Krosno rather than definitively identified.
