Charming circa 1920's antique Chinoiserie wood stool featuring a sculptural form and beautifully aged black lacquer finish. Dating to approximately the turn of the 20th century, the piece retains wonderful evidence of its age and traditional construction, including old exposed nail heads visible on the undersides of the feet. The aged lacquer, construction details, and naturally developed surface wear give the stool an authentic, timeworn character and rich patina.
With its balanced proportions and distinctive silhouette, the piece is versatile enough to function as a stool, small side table, plant stand, or decorative accent. Its black lacquer finish works beautifully in Chinoiserie, Asian-inspired, traditional, eclectic, and Western United States interiors.
