Striking vintage fiber art wall sculpture by Don Freedman for Interlude Inc., dated 1991. This sculptural composition features a graceful pair of long-legged cranes with outstretched wings, rendered in richly layered woven fibers.
The palette is dominated by soft blue, accented with gray, ivory, and warm gold at the beaks and legs. Intricate hand-worked fibers create beautiful texture and dimension throughout the wings and bodies, giving the piece a strong decorative presence while still feeling light and organic.
Original manufacturer’s label remains on the reverse and identifies the piece as Design No. 405, handmade in India for Interlude Inc., Newark, New Jersey, and copyrighted Don Freedman in 1991. The label lists jute, art silk, wood, and cotton among the materials.
Original hanging hardware remains intact.
Dimensions: approximately 35” W × 28” H.
