Two vintage Danish modern dining chairs in the Roundette manner, the three-legged triangular form that is one of the great furniture ideas of the 1950s.
Hans Olsen designed the Roundette for Frem Røjle in 1952 and created something genuinely radical: a three-legged chair with a triangular seat that nests perfectly under a round table, disappearing completely when not in use. The idea was so good that it was widely adopted across Scandinavian furniture production. These two chairs capture that same spirit, the distinctive three-legged structure, the triangular seat, the characteristic silhouette, in an unlabelled but clearly period-correct example of Danish mid-century craftsmanship.
The wood frames have been professionally repolished. The condition is great , wear consistent with age and use, nothing that compromises the structure or the visual presence of the piece. Two chairs that have earned their patina.
Use them as a pair at a small round table, as accent chairs in a living room, or as the start of a set. The form is instantly recognizable to anyone who loves Danish mid-century design.
Perfect for:
— A Danish modern interior that wants the Roundette aesthetic without the Roundette price
— A collector who values honest attribution over inflated provenance
— A small dining space or breakfast nook that needs two perfectly proportioned chairs
— An interior designer sourcing characterful Danish pieces for a client
