A rare set of four Magazin ceiling lamps designed by Danish architect Vilhelm Wohlert for Louis Poulsen, Denmark, during the 1970s.
These beautifully restrained ceiling lights exemplify the Scandinavian minimalist approach to lighting design, reducing the traditional ceiling lamp to its essential components. Each lamp consists of a central bulb socket surrounded by a distinctive circular anti-glare ring, supported by four finely formed metal struts.
The characteristic reflector ring conceals the direct view of the bulb and filament, producing a softer and more comfortable light. The simplicity of the construction makes the small details particularly important: the flat profile of the supporting struts, the subtle projection of the upper ring and the clean, flush lower finish give the lamps a highly considered architectural quality.
Each lamp is supplied with its original ceiling mounting plate. The lamps can be installed individually or used together as a coordinated group, making this set particularly suitable for hallways, kitchens, bedrooms, corridors or larger architectural interiors.
All four lamps have been previously installed and therefore have additional holes drilled into the side of their mounting bases. These holes have been professionally filled with rubber grommets and are clearly visible in the photographs.
The lamps have been refinished in a high-gloss white finish, giving the set a crisp and contemporary appearance while retaining the original design character.

About Vilhelm Wohlert
Vilhelm Wohlert (1920–2007) was one of Denmark's most respected modernist architects. His approach was characterised by simplicity, proportion, natural materials and careful consideration of light.
Wohlert's lighting designs reflect the same architectural philosophy as his buildings: rather than treating a light fitting as purely decorative, he reduced the object to its essential elements while carefully controlling the quality and direction of illumination.
His collaboration with Louis Poulsen resulted in a number of understated lighting designs that exemplify the Danish tradition of functionalism and architectural minimalism.
About Louis Poulsen
Founded in Copenhagen in 1874, Louis Poulsen became one of Scandinavia's most important lighting manufacturers. The company's philosophy of designing lighting around the relationship between form, function and light led to collaborations with many of Denmark's leading architects and designers.
The Magazin lamps demonstrate this approach particularly well: an extremely simple construction is transformed by the carefully proportioned anti-glare ring and supporting structure into an elegant architectural lighting object.
This rare set of four offers an opportunity to acquire a cohesive group of original 1970s Danish architectural lights, particularly suited to interiors where multiple matching fittings are required. This piece has an attribution mark,
